About Us

ARTICLE I: Mission SECTION ONE: The purpose of the Afro-Latinx Student Association is to build and foster a community of Afro-Latinx-identifying students at Emory University. There has not been a space on campus that caters to the unique identity and experience of being Afro-Latinx. SECTION TWO: The Afro-Latinx Student Association aims to share knowledge about the complexities and intersectionality of being Black and Latinx within our community but also with the Emory community at large. We aim to share our music, dance, history, traditions, and anything else that makes our experiences unique. SECTION THREE: The Afro-Latinx Student Association aims to enrich the community by hosting events that educate and celebrate Afro-Latinx culture. We will unify and uplift Afro-Latinx students by creating community and providing support.
