Metro Atlanta Urban Farm
At Metro Atlanta Urban Farm, volunteers will get hands-on experience supporting urban agriculture and food justice. Tasks include planting, harvesting, composting, and maintaining garden beds, depending on the season. Furkids
Volunteers will support Furkids ATL by caring for cats and assisting at the organization’s next-door thrift store. Tasks include feeding, cleaning, and socializing with cats, as well as sorting, organizing, and arranging donated items in the thrift store to ensure they are displayed effectively. This event offers a unique opportunity to make a difference both in the lives of animals and in the surrounding community. By interacting with and caring for cats, volunteers improve their well-being and increase their chances of finding loving homes. At the same time, by supporting thrift store operations, volunteers help maximize sales that directly fund Furkids’ mission. Volunteers should be comfortable with light physical activity such as standing, bending, walking, or lifting items. Wearing close toed shoes is advised. Training and on-site guidance will be provided.

Do you want to learn how to cook delicious healthy food? Come to a A Few Cooks volunteer cooking session! We’ll show you how to make high quality home-cooked meals from all over the world. American Cancer Society Atlanta Hope Lodge
Volunteers will support Hope Lodge, a facility that provides free lodging for cancer patients receiving treatment. During this service project, volunteers will assist with deep cleaning the shared kitchens on the first floor to help maintain a safe and welcoming space for guests and their caregivers. All cleaning supplies will be provided, and a staff member will guide volunteers through the tasks. By lending a hand, volunteers help create a comfortable, home-like environment for families during a challenging time.

Status Home is a nonprofit that provides permanent supportive housing and services for low-income individuals and families impacted by HIV/AIDS, helping them live with dignity and stability. Volunteers will take part in a community beautification project, helping create a welcoming outdoor space for residents. Tasks may include assembling picnic tables and park benches, picking up litter, and planting flowers around the property. This project involves hands-on work and will take place entirely outdoors, so please dress appropriately for the weather. If you have work or gardening gloves, feel free to bring them, and we will also have some available on site.

Wellspring Living
Wellspring Living aims to support survivors and those at risk of sexual exploitation by providing education, safe housing, and healing services. Volunteers will help with removing holiday decorations, and organizing donations and supplies in the outdoor shed at the Bridge Community, which is a program that provides transitional housing for graduates of Wellspring Living programs and their children. Volunteers should wear comfortable, movement-appropriate clothing.
