The Atlanta Urban Debate League (AUDL) is committed to providing quality debate education programs, services, and opportunities to K-12 students, educators, and community members. Through their participation in after-school programming, tournaments, camps, fellowships, and internships, AUDL community members further develop the critical thinking, public speaking, research, and social-emotional skills necessary to be more informed and effective advocates.

Students selected to become an ambassador will attend monthly meetings where they will learn about campus emergency procedures, undergo training and certifications such as CPR, bleeding control, fire safety, and more. They will engage with their community through planning and participating in campus events, community training, and disseminating safety/preparedness information.

Graduation Generation (GradGen) mobilizes Emory students, faculty, and staff to partner with K–12 schools and community organizations, creating programs and services that help students overcome obstacles, discover their strengths, and prepare for life beyond high school. Through mentorship, academic support, and community engagement, we work to ensure every student can graduate ready for college, career, and life.

As a GradGen member, you’ll have the opportunity to make a real impact by mentoring K–12 students in Atlanta, helping them explore college and career pathways. Living Health and Well-Being (LH&WB) is a campus-wide initiative hosted by the Center for the Study of Human Health (CSHH), the Health 1–2–3–4 Program, the Center for Student Wellbeing (CSW), and the Wellbeing Leaders Coalition (WLC). The WLC brings together representatives from Emory’s schools and university organizations with a shared commitment to advancing student well-being across campus.

LH&WB hosts a twice-annual event that encourages the campus community to practice both self-care and care-for-others as essential components of health and well-being education and promotion. The initiative reinforces the application of health-promoting concepts beyond the classroom and affirms that well-being is a shared institutional value—not the responsibility of any single office. Through this collaborative effort, Emory demonstrates its commitment to supporting students’ ability to flourish individually and collectively.

SHINE is Emory’s premier engagement program with the refugee, immigrant, and new American communities in metro Atlanta. Through educational events, celebrations, and sustained community collaboration, SHINE has contributed to a more welcoming and compassionate metro Atlanta for refugees, immigrants, and new Americans for over 15 years. Since its inception over 3000 members of the Emory community participated in SHINE. We welcome students, staff, faculty, and alums to join us!

Overview of Programs: Volunteer Emory, operating out of the Center for Civic and Community Engagement, offers students the chance to engage in the community through weekly service trips, alternative breaks, Days of Service, and social justice education as well as Community Connection events.
