About Us

The purpose of Drawing Club at Emory is to create a club where we hold: Bimonthly meetings held at either the Visual Arts Building or Cox’s - depending on the availability of each location. At the start of each meeting, an educational lesson on the basics of drawing, including lighting, perspective, foreshortening, cross-hatching, and many other important techniques. The meeting would continue with group drawing activities or challenges such as Gartic phone (telephone the game but with images instead of words), Pictionary, drawing with coffee, etc. For students who really enjoy drawing, the club could go around asking professors or departments if they would want a mural for a part of their building. These murals around campus would create a more vibrant and creative atmosphere. The club would also bring in local artists to talk about their work and their careers if there is enough desire within the club for such an event.
