Emory Transfer Student Organization
About
Transfer students have a unique position in the Emory community. Although they have experienced the college environment already, they face many of the same problems that first-year students face such as finding friends and a community, searching for extracurricular activities, and navigating the particular academic environment that Emory has. However, unlike first-years, transfer students have less time to adapt to this environment and thus may find themselves feeling like they are lagging behind socially, professionally, or even academically. As so, the Emory Transfer Student Organization purpose is to:
- Create a community and network of transfer students
- Give transfer students opportunities to adapt to the general Emory population
- Provide leadership skills and development for both new and old transfer students
- Offer resources (both academic and professional) for transfer students
The Emory Transfer Student Organization aims to accomplish all of the following by creating programs, opportunities, and a network aimed to accommodate the specific needs of transfer students at Emory University.
