About Us
Swara aims to bring the rich tradition of the South Asian classical musical art form, Carnatic music, to the Emory community. We put together events and concerts which are inclusive for students at all levels in their musical journey. Swara also aims to share knowledge about Carnatic music including music theory, Carnatic history, and the meaning behind compositions. From panels, discussions, and performances by esteemed guest artists, the members of Swara are committed to upholding tradition while showcasing Carnatic music for new and existing audiences!
